Community Based & Integrated for Over 20 Years Within the SouthEastern Wisconsin Communities

Our Story

Dr. Christina Diorio and Dr. Kimberly Young had a mutual goal to develop and operate a unique, innovative mental health agency that would be a rewarding place to work and a healing place for the families receiving services. Dr. Diorio and Dr. Young connected in the late 1990’s as they both completed their predoctoral and postdoctoral training within the Department of Juvenile Corrections in Wisconsin. As they were in the process of getting licensed as psychologists, they began to create a business plan to fulfill their vision of Family Options Counseling.

Dr. Diorio and Dr. Young have taken this goal seriously and have applied it to the daily interactions with Family Options Counseling staff and clients. Family Options Counseling has relocated three times; each time, making improvements for the comfort for our clients and our team.

Dr. Diorio and Dr. Young were committed to the creation of an agency in which services were accessible in the community on an outpatient basis and accessible to anyone in need of services. They wanted to be able to utilize their training as psychologists as well as utilize their specialized training working with high risk populations. Over the past few decades, the partnership has remained solid and steadfast resulting in a variety of specialized treatment services as well as general outpatient services that are accessed by youth and families.
